Another short note from my Husband…

Bobbi and I finally worked together on a wedding. I may have neglected to mention in my previous writings that I am an Ordained Minister. Usually I don’t have the opportunity to function in that role, as I am also active duty military. Back to the blog… so we finally worked together on a wedding; it was outside, chilly, wet, and we both had very minimal preparation for it. Bobbi took on a D.O.C. for a deployed military member and then their officiant had to cancel at the last minute, so I was recommended and approved by the couple.

Now, I can do my job without even meeting the couple; however, it makes for a very impersonal and clinical service. Of course, the more information I have, the better I can tailor my services to neatly and completely fit into the couple's anticipations. As a Day of Coordinator, Bobbi does a walk-through of the venue with the couple; through that meeting and emails, she learns of all the details and plans her Bride and Groom have planned for their dream day. Her responsibilities encompass, well, everything. Florist, cake, photographer, videographer, venue, caterer, and stuff I can’t even begin to think of. How she is able to pull it all together with a few emails and meetings with her clients is, again, something I just cannot fathom.

I enjoyed, as I always do, my simple, short, easy part of the day... the actual wedding of the couple. I saw my Wife doing an amazing job. She was in her element; happy and totally competent. Personally; I just couldn’t be paid enough to do what she does. There were far too many things going on, with far too many people, with far too much to remember. Amazing.

Not very many people are lucky enough to work with their Spouse. I was, and I look forward to doing so many more times. In a word how do I feel about this; blessed. With a word, how would I describe what my Wife does and how she does it; whoa, just whoa. Yes it was more than one word, but I am writing this and I am a minister, so I can do that.
